BC Aboriginal Health Network

Relationships are integral to the work of the Aboriginal Health Branch. The Branch coordinates the BC Aboriginal Health Network to provide a forum for broad-based, coordinated policy and planning and facilitate ongoing relationships.

Member agencies include:

BC Aboriginal Network on Disability Society
Provides a variety of support services and resources to help aboriginal people with disabilities and others associated with the disabled.

B.C. Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres
The umbrella association for 24 Friendship Centres who provide a number of services to urban Aboriginal communities throughout B.C.

Community Health Associates of BC

First Nations Health Council
The First Nations Health Council was created in 2007 to implement the 10-year Tripartite First Nations Health Plan on behalf of BC First Nations. The Health Council is made up of representatives from the First Nations Summit, the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, and the BC Assembly of First Nations.

Métis Nation British Columbia
Develops and enhances opportunities for B.C.’s Métis communities by implementing culturally relevant social and economic programs and services.

Pacific Association of First Nations Women
Assists Aboriginal women and their families with health, education, and social service issues.

Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs
Supports the work of Aboriginal people at the community, national and international level to obtain recognition of their aboriginal rights and respect for their cultures and societies.

United Native Nations
Provides a political voice for the off-reserve Aboriginal people in British Columbia.
