Media Contact:

The Communications department of the BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) may be able to provide information to the media regarding the BCAS response to significant events occuring anywhere in British Columbia.

Protecting the privacy of the patients entrusted in our care is our first priority. In accordance with the provincial Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Communications department is limited in the amount of information it can provide to media. Media inquiring about a specific incident should be prepared to provide basic details such as:

  • location that the ambulance(s) responded to
  • the time that the ambulance(s) arrived on-scene

Details that could identify a patient or the circumstances that led to their injury can not be released by the BCAS. The Communications department is also the first point of contact for corporate comment.
