Child Care Licensing Regulation

November 2007

The ministry completed the renewal of the new Child Care Licensing Regulation November 8, 2007. The new regulation will have a significant impact on the practice and operations of child care facilities. The most notable change in the new regulation is that prescriptive rules are replaced with outcome based regulations for matters that do not negatively impact on health and safety. In addition, the new regulation includes a number of new provisions as well as changes to existing provisions.

March 2008

The ministry and local health authority community care licensing programs carried out 30 licensee information sessions in 15 communities across the province.  Over 3,500 people attended these information sessions.  A copy of the licensee information package can be downloaded from this website, a copy of the ministry licensee information presentation is available to view at your local health authority community care licensing program.
