About UsThe Healthy Children, Women and Seniors and Injury Prevention Branch (HCWSIP) is part of the Population Health and Wellness Division of the B.C. Ministry of Health. HCWSIP focuses on promoting health and well-being, and preventing illness, disease and disability in children (birth to 6years), women and older adults (age 65 and older). We also work to prevent injuries (intentional and unintentional) for all British Columbians. Our vision is one of healthy children, women and older adults, and an injury-free B.C.. Our strategic goals include: healthy development of infants, toddlers, and preschool children; optimal physical and emotional health for girls and women of all ages; active aging for older people; and injury prevention for all ages.
