Connecting Diagnostic Imaging

X-rays, CT Scans, MRI’s - diagnostic images and reports are essential to diagnosing a wide range of conditions and diseases. Early diagnosis is a critical step in achieving better outcomes to a wide range of medical conditions.

The Connecting DI (CDI) will provide seamless access to digital diagnostic images and reports to authorized users anywhere in the Province regardless of where the examination took place, via the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Better care for patients from CDI from:

  • Improved quality and speed of service for patients, less time waiting for results;
  • Reduced treatment delays;
  • Improved patient safety through reducing radiation doses by avoiding an estimated 180,000 duplicate tests every year.
  • Connect physicians with each other and with radiologists for more effective and efficient care delivery.

Brian, age 15 lives 50 miles east of Hixon and has spina bifida. Brian travels to Prince George to get an MRI and a CT scan and other tests conducted by his pediatrician. In Hixon, Brian’s GP is able to access results of all the tests online on a private network and show them to Brian and his parents so they can implement an integrated care plan.
