Written Remedial Examination
You have two opportunities to rewrite the examination if you are not successful the first time.
To schedule a written remedial examination, follow these steps:
- Use the list of approved examination locations (PDF 292K) to choose a location near you.
- Contact the proctor of your choice and arrange a date and time which falls at least two weeks from when you submit your Written Examination Schedule form.
- Submit electronically the Written Examination Scheduling form.
Remedial Practical Examination
If you need to schedule a remedial examination, please check the feedback form you received from your EMA licensing examiner on your evaluation day. The form will list your examination requirements.
To schedule a practical examination, follow these steps:

- You will have two remedial attempts to pass the practical examination if you are not successful the first time.
- Remedial exams can include: practical scenarios or skill tests to target specific areas of weakness.
- Other methods of remediation can include: completion of CPR certification, or research papers (due two weeks from assignment) to target specific knowledge gaps.
