Trained Outside of Canada
If you completed your training outside of Canada and want to get a licence in B.C., follow these steps:
Once the EMA Licensing Branch has received all your documentation by mail or e-mail at speciallicenses@gov.bc.ca, a clinical advisor will review your file to determine your equivalent level of training in British Columbia. You will then receive further information on your examination or other requirements.
Important Things to Know
- The competency comparison forms are labelled for primary care paramedics and advance care paramedics only. International applicants looking to get a critical care paramedic or infant transport team licence should use the advance care paramedic form.
- There is currently no national competency for the emergency medical responder (EMR) level. EMRs are not required to fill out a comparison form.
