Having your Restrictions Removed
The EMA Licensing Board has approved a process to remove medication restriction(s) and is currently developing processes for the removal of other restrictions.
Medication Restrictions
To have your medication restriction(s) removed, follow these steps:
- Submit a research paper for each medication restriction by e-mail to getalicense@gov.bc.ca or by fax to 250 952-1222. Please follow the link detailing the paper requirements.
- The title of your research paper should be as follows: “Research Paper for Training Gap Restriction Removal – Medication Name”.
Airway Restrictions
To have your airway restriction removed, follow these steps:
- Take an approved airway course – see the chart of training modules.
- Submit your training certificate with your full name and licence number clearly indicated to getalicense@gov.bc.ca or by fax to 250 952-1222.
Direct Supervision Restrictions
You would have received a letter informing you of the assessment process and the terms and conditions of your licence if your licence has a restriction for direct supervision.

Other Restrictions
Please contact the EMA Licensing Branch if you want to have restrictions other than the ones mentioned above removed.
