Kate Bayne was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1997 after graduating from University of British Columbia (UBC) Law School in 1995. In 1998 Kate completed her masters of Law at Columbia University in New York City. Kate joined Heenan Blaikie in 1998. Prior to joining the firm she clerked for the Honourable Mr. Justice LaForest at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has been an adjunct professor at the UBC in the Faculty of Law since 1999. Kate practices in the areas of labour and employment law, human rights, constitutional and administrative law. Kate also regularly assists with competitive moot and advocacy training at the UBC Faculty of Law, and has participated in numerous seminars and conferences and written many papers on labour, employment and human rights issues.
