Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board

Applying for licensure in B.C.

There are a number of ways to obtain an Emergency Medical Assistant (EMA) License in B.C.

  • Complete a recognized Paramedic training program in B.C.,
  • Currently hold a valid Paramedic license in another province of Canada,
  • Complete a recognized Paramedic training program in another province of Canada (but do not currently hold a license in any province of Canada),
  • Apply with training and experience obtained outside of Canada.
