All training agencies seeking recognition of their training programs must submit their curriculum to the EMA Licensing Board. In addition, PCP and ACP programs must be accredited by the Canadian Medical Association before they can be considered for recognition.


Once training is complete and certification is achieved, the student must successfully complete EMA Licensing Exams in order to become licensed.

    PLEASE NOTE:
  • You must complete your licensing exams within one year of your certification.
  • To access the booking forms and the applicant guide as referred to on these pages, a userid and password are required, please contact the EMA Licensing Branch office for information on how to obtain a userid.
  • EMA Licensing Branch offices are located in Victoria, B.C. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30pm. Please call 250 952-1211 or email emalb@victoria1.gov.bc.ca.
  • All licensing exams for new applicants consist of three components: a written exam, a practical evaluation and the B.C. jurisprudence online exam. These components can be completed in any order.
