Applying for Licensure in British Columbia – Complete a Paramedic Training program within B.C.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE UNSUCCESSFUL IN YOUR EVALUATION(S):

If you are unsuccessful in your written examination, you will be notified via email within 2 weeks. In order to book your remedial written exam you must use the Written Evaluation Booking Form. There is no feedback provided for written examinations. You will be given a total of three opportunities to be successful in your written exam.

If you are unsuccessful in your jurisprudence exam, you will be notified by email. There is no feedback provided for the jurisprudence examination. In order to try again, you must submit a cheque or money order for $50 made payable to the Minister of Finance to this office and submit another Written Evaluation Booking Form. You will be given an unlimited number of opportunities to be successful in the jurisprudence exam, but the fee is applied to each attempt.

At the end of your practical evaluation day the exam coordinator will meet with you to review any feedback provided from the examiners on your performance during the course of the day. You will be told if you were successful or not at this time. Any remedial requirement(s) will be assigned at this time as well. Remedials may consist of practical scenario(s), practical skill test(s) and/or written research paper assignment(s).

A letter will be prepared and sent to you including the feedback from the examiners. You should review the feedback provided and apply for a remedial practical evaluation using the online Practical Evaluation Booking Form.

Please remember that your remedial evaluation will consist of components of those areas of weakness identified, but other components of your scope of practice as well. You should review all your study material. You will be given a total of three opportunities to be successful in your practical evaluation.

If you were assigned a written research paper, it must be completed in WORD format and submitted via email to emalb@victoria1.gov.bc.ca within 2 weeks of your exam day. If you are assigned a paper, you will be given clear instructions on content and format at the end of your practical evaluation day.

  • You must complete your licensing exams within one year of your certification.
