Applying for Licensure in British Columbia – Complete a Paramedic Training program outside of B.C. but no license is currently held.

FEES

    The fee for Licensing Evaluations:
  • Written exam fee (written and online exam) = $50.00 each
  • Practical Evaluation fee
    • For EMR and PCP levels = $400.00
    • For ACP level = $500
  • EMA Licensing Fee Schedule
    Licensing Fees are payable by cheque or money order only - made out to the Minister of Finance and mailed to EMA Licensing Branch offices. PLEASE ENSURE YOUR NAME IS ON THE CHEQUE OR ON THE ACCOMPANYING LETTER.

Once all forms and fees are received and an equivalent licence level is determined, each out of province applicant must complete EMA licensing Evaluations in order to become licensed.

    PLEASE NOTE:
  • If your evaluation process is not complete within six months of your original application to the board, an updated Professional Experience Form is required.
  • To access the booking forms and the applicant guide as referred to on these pages, a userid and password are required, please contact the EMA Licensing Branch office for information on how to obtain a userid.
  • EMA Licensing Branch offices are located in Victoria, B.C. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30pm. Please call 250 952-1211 or email emalb@victoria1.gov.bc.ca.
  • All licensing exams for out of province and international applicants consist of three components: a written exam, a practical evaluation and the B.C. jurisprudence online exam. The written exam must be successfully completed prior to being permitted to book the practical evaluation. The jurisprudence exam can be completed at any point during the process.

If all forms and fees have been completed and submitted, and your equivalent license level has been determined, you are eligible to book your evaluations.
