Renewing your Licence
An EMA licence is valid for five years except for the EMA first responder licence which is valid for three years.
If your licence is expired, you are no longer licensed to practice in British Columbia. This applies to all categories of licence.
Click here for information on keeping a first responder licence.
You will receive a reminder letter four months before your licence expires. This letter will be mailed to the last home address you provided the EMA Licensing Branch.
If you have not given us your current mailing address, please do so by electronically submitting the Contact Information Update form.
To renew your licence, follow these steps:
Important Things to Know
- Please send all your licence renewal documents to the EMA Licensing Branch at least two weeks before the expiry date of your licence. This will allow time for processing, issuing and mailing your licence.
- If you are a BCAS employee, your fee will be invoiced to BCAS if the EMA Licensing Branch receives your application form(s) and photo before your licence expires.
