Emergency Medical Assisting

 

The Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board is the regulatory body established for the health profession of emergency medical assisting. The Board is established under the Emergency and Health Services Act and operates in accordance with the Emergency Medical Assistants Regulation.

The Board is composed of three members, one of whom must be an emergency medical assistant and one of whom must be a medical practitioner, appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

Proposed Regulation Amendments
Notice Date

Amendments to the Emergency and Health Services Act which would wind up the functions of the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board were approved during the Spring 2002 Session of the Legislature. In future, the licensing functions of the Board will be transferred to a new self-governing college which will be established pursuant to the Health Professions Act.
