This Plan Section includes:

  • A Framework describing the strategy for managing human resources during the H1N1 influenza outbreak. It outlines the broad strategy for helping ensure adequate numbers of health care providers are available to work;
  • The Provincial Health Officer’s policy on occupational infection prevention and control for the H1N1 pandemic influenza. This was developed through a process including WorkSafe BC, the Health Employers Association of BC, the Occupational Health and Safety Agency for Healthcare in BC, unions, regulatory bodies and colleges;
  • A plan for health care workers that addresses conditions of employment;
  • A summary of new compensation changes for private physicians; and,
  • Human resources guidelines jointly developed by the federal, provincial and territorial ministries of health and adopted by B.C.
