Rural Practice ProgramsSubsidiary Agreement for Physicians in Rural Practice The Subsidiary Agreement for Physicians in Rural Practice (RSA) (PDF 114 Kb) between the BC Government, the British Columbia Medical Association (BCMA) and the Medical Services Commission (MSC) aims to enhance patient care and availability of physician services in rural and remote areas of BC, by addressing unique and difficult clinical circumstances encountered by rural physicians. (PDF 9Kb) A Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues (JSC), with representation from both the provincial government and BCMA, develops and manages physician programs, under the current subsidiary agreement.
