Rural Specialist Locum Program'UPDATE' - Enhancements to Locum Programs The Ministry of Health Services (MoHS) and the British Columbia Medical Association (BCMA) are pleased to announce changes to strengthen the Rural GP Locum Program (RGPLP) and the Rural Specialist Locum Program (RSLP). These changes are being made based upon the recommendation of the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues (JSC). The RSLP supports health authorities to recruit specialists in designated or eligible communities. The program pays the locum physician a guaranteed daily amount and travel time honorarium. Each host physician, through their health authority, must submit a request form to Rural Practice Programs, Ministry of Health, for consideration. For information on eligibility for host and locum physicians, responsibilities, locum requests and payment see the Rural Specialist Locum Program Policy (PDF 138Kb). More information on specialist locums, see Specialist Locum Opportunities (PDF 189Kb) and Do You Need a Specialist Locum? (PDF 196Kb) To apply for a specialist locum, complete the #2851 Request for Specialist Locum Assistance form. Locum Physicians
