Drug Review Results & Process

Drug Review Process

Before being considered for inclusion as benefits under the PharmaCare program, all drugs must be reviewed.

For a detailed description of how a drug sponsor’s request for PharmaCare coverage is reviewed, see The Drug Review Process in B.C.

The Ministry of Health Services drug review starts on either:

  • the date of the final Canadian Expert Drug Advisory Committee (CEDAC) recommendation for those drugs reviewed by the Common Drug Review process
  • or
  • the date the submission is received by the Ministry for drugs not reviewed by the Common Drug Review process
