I am not sure if I have been registered for Fair PharmaCare before

If this is your situation... Do this...

- You are not sure if you might have registered in past.

- You are not sure if another family member may have registered you in the past.

- You think you may have registered but don't think you have active PharmaCare coverage.

Telephone Health Insurance BC to find out if you are already registered.

  • If you are not, you can still choose to register online or by phone.
  • If you are, HIBC will help you determine what is needed to reactivate your coverage.

I have registered before but my circumstances have changed

If this is your situation... Do this...

I registered but I need to update my personal information.

You do not need to register again.

To make changes to your personal information, telephone Health Insurance BC.

I registered as a single person but I am now married (or living in a marriage-like relationship).

You do not need to register again.

To get coverage for your family, telephone Health Insurance BC.

I registered as a member of another family (e.g., with my former spouse or with my parents).

You do not need to register again.

To make changes to your coverage, telephone Health Insurance BC.

By telephone you can set up:

  • separate coverage if you have recently turned 19 or have completed full-time schooling.
  • separate coverage if you were recently separated or divorced.
  • separate coverage if you have remarried or are living in a new marriage-like relationship.

I registered before but my income has gone down.

You cannot change your income information using online registration.

If your income has gone down by 10% or more in the past two years, apply for an Income Review.

I have registered before but my coverage has ended

If this is your situation... Do this...

I registered but my coverage ended because I did not return a consent form authorizing PharmaCare to verify my income.

You do not need to register again.

To renew your coverage, request a new consent form and return the signed form to Health Insurance BC.

I registered but my coverage ended because I did not file a tax return.

You do not need to register again.

Send a copy of your Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment by mail to Health Insurance BC.

I registered but my coverage ended because I left B.C. to live elsewhere.

You do not need to register again.

I registered but my coverage ended and I don’t know why.

I have never registered before

If this is your situation... Do this...

I have never been registered for Fair PharmaCare.

Register online now.

I am a new Canadian resident who has not yet filed a tax return in Canada.

You can register online.

IMPORTANT:
When registering, you will be asked to state your net income information from two years ago as reported to the Canada Revenue Agency.

Because you have not filed an income tax return in Canada, please enter your income from all sources inside and outside Canada for last year.
