The following categories of drugs are not generally eligible for Special Authority:

  • Drugs included as part of a private clinical trial
  • Smoking cessation aids
  • Diet therapy
  • Drugs classified as or used for cosmetic purposes
  • New drugs currently under review by PharmaCare
