Starting in June 2011, the government introduced a new Healthy Families BC strategy to help British Columbians improve their health. As part of this strategy, family physicians have been given more tools to help people who belong to one of the at-risk populations (smoker, unhealthy eating, physically inactive, obese) get on the road to a healthier lifestyle.

You can meet with your doctor to carry out a Personal Health Risk Assessment. Your doctor will complete a medical assessment to identify any health problems you have. Then you and your doctor will work out a custom-built plan to help you keep from getting sick and improve your overall health.
