Labour Mobility (TILMA/AIT)
Out of Province Applicants who are currently licensed as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner in another jurisdiction – including out of country applicants must:
- Complete the appropriate sections of the Application Form , and have the form witnessed by a licensed notary public or commissioner for taking affidavits.
- Applicants currently licensed in a regulated jurisdiction should complete –
Sections 1 - 3, 6, and 8 - 13
- Applicants currently licensed in an unregulated jurisdiction must complete –All Sections
- Pay the Registration fee and initial license fee
- Request a letter of Good Standing from the Regulator to be sent directly to the Board of Hearing Aid Dealers and Consultants office. This letter must confirm the applicant’s license is in good standing and is not currently under suspension, revocation, or review for any matters.

- If the jurisdiction the applicant is coming from is not regulated, the applicant must submit proof of completion of a relevant course of study in the Hearing Health profession.
- Submit two letters of character reference
- Acknowledge the Hearing Aid Act and Hearing Aid Regulation; complete and sign the Declaration Form. Submit to the Board office.
New Applicants who are not licensed as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner in any other jurisdiction must:
- Complete all sections of the Application Form, and have the form witnessed by a licensed notary public or commissioner for taking affidavits.
- Submit proof of 2 years post secondary education (transcripts or diploma), and two letters of reference;
- Complete Conditions for Application for Licensing Form;
- Pay the registration fee;
- Pass an approved course in the dispensing of hearing aids;
- Complete the training if required and submit "Schedule A";
- Pass the written and practical examinations.
- Pay the initial license fee
- Acknowledge the Hearing Aid Act and Hearing Aid Regulation; complete and sign the Declaration Form Submit to the Board office.
