Class E Feasibility Study
In nondesignated areas, the first step in the licence application process is to complete a Class E feasibility study and submit it to the Class E Feasibility Study Provincial Coordinator for review and approval. A feasibility study is not required in designated areas.
Resources
The following resources have been developed to help you complete your feasibility study.
Provincially Licensed Slaughter Facilities (by Regional District)
Maps of Provincially Licensed Class A, B and C Slaughter Operations
A series of maps has been developed to help you locate provincially licensed slaughter facilities in your area: interactive (Google Maps) and static (PDF) maps.
Abattoir Profiles
Once you have identified the facilities in your area, review the abattoir profiles for information about the services each facility offers. If there is no profile for a facility in your area, contact the facility directly. The list of provincially licensed slaughter facilities (above) has contact information for each facility.
Seek as much information as possible about the licensed facilities in your area through local sources. A facility appearing on these maps may be temporarily closed, or offer services based on demand only (e.g., a licensed docking station).
For more information, please contact your regional health authority.
