How healthy are older people in B.C.? 

Caregiving:

Older people both receive care and provide care to others. They are important resources in our health care system.

  • In 2001, nearly 18% of British Columbians over age 15 spent time providing care to older people. (12)
  • According to a 1995 report, most caregivers (73%) are women, and the majority (66%) of people receiving care are over age 65. (13)
