Out of Province
When a beneficiary is injured in an incident/accident out of province, the Ministry of Health pays the hospital costs through the reciprocal agreement between the provinces.
Out of Country Claims
When a beneficiary is injured in an incident/accident outside Canada, then we receive notification from HIBC, Out of Country Claims, and the Third Party Liability Department reviews and sends authorization to HIBC Out of Country Claims to pay the hospital costs, if appropriate.
