Women in BC have made social, economic, and political gains in many areas, however further opportunities for advancement exist. The Healthy Development and Women's Health Branch works in partnership with other levels of government, ministries, health authorities and other non-government agencies and organizations to coordinate and unify policy pertaining to women's issues within the population.
The Federal-Provincial-Territorial (F-P-T) Ministers Responsible for the Status of Women Forum (the Forum) was first established in 1981. All provinces and territories, as well as the federal government, participate on the Forum.
