Gitxaala Nation
The Gitxaala Nation is located on Dolphin
Island south of Prince Rupert, B.C. and
accessible only by two-hour ferry trip, a four-
hour boat trip or by seaplane, a 20-minute
trip. There are approximately 500 people
living on the island.
Gitxaala built backyard gardens and
participated in produce preservation workshops.
Kwadacha Nation
The community of Kwadacha is located 570
kilometres, or eight hours, north of Prince
George and is home to approximately 300
residents.
Kwadacha built a community garden and
participated in produce preservation workshops.
Nisga’a First Nation at Laxgaltsa’ap Village
The Nisga’a First Nation Laxgaltsa’ap Village is located 150 kilometres
north of Terrace, and is home to approximately 562 people.
Laxgaltsa’ap participated in produce preservation
workshops.
